I don’t know about you but I can’t wait for the ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ movie. It was one of my favourite books when I was a little girl.  What about you do you like it? Are you planning to see the movie?

Book Feast 2009

Posted by: Mrs. Haller on: September 23, 2009

Today Oriel, Alannah, Caitlyn, May and I ventured out into the dusty city to attend Book Feast at the DET Head Office.

At Book Feast we got to sit and have lunch with Vashti Farrer and ask her lots of questions about writing, books and what inspires her to write.
We also listened to Duncan Ball read from his new book ‘My sister has a big black beard’, Mr Andrew White’s storytelling and Mr Rickard Harland read to us. After lunch we all (including me) got to meet and speak with lots of fantastic authors and illustrators.
It was an interesting and inspiring day.

Next week at assembly the girls who attended will show some photos and tell you more.

What a wonderful book week! Thank you.

I feel that book week 2009 was a great sucess and that comes down to all the effort that parents, students and staff went to. Thank you all very much.

The book fair was also an astonishing sucess raising over $800 worth of books for the school library. It was my first attempt at holding a book fair and I thank everyone for bearing with me. It was so inspiring and excouraging to see how excited the children were about buying a book to add to their collection at home.

Now I think I will collapse! ;)
